Health and Safety Statement of Intent

The Directors of ARMA Connect Ltd (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Company’) place great importance on, and are committed to, ensuring the health and safety of all employees and other persons who may be affected by the work activities of the Company. This policy document has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and other relevant legislation, and is issued for the direction, guidance and information of all employees, suppliers, contractors, customers and members of the public who may be affected by the work activities of the Company.

The objectives, aims and targets of the policy are based on the following principles:

“ALL INJURIES CAN BE PREVENTED” and “ALL ACCIDENTAL LOSSES CAN BE CONTROLLED”.

This policy document applies to the main HQ site and all places that employees working on Company business – premises, sites, situations or travel means.

HQ Site: Unit 4 Crowhurst Hop Farm, Bullen Lane, East Peckham, Tonbridge, Kent, TN12 5LP.

This is the Health and Safety Policy Statement of ARMA Connect Ltd (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Company’) as required under Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. It is the aim of the Company to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of employees at work, contractors, visitors, and members of the general public who may be affected by its work activities. Furthermore, the Company shall endeavour to comply with its legal duties, responsibilities and obligations under the relevant health and safety legislation, together with any relevant codes of practice and guidance notes issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Responsibilities for Health and Safety

Company Directors – Gary Walker-Brown (Operations Director) & Terry Parker (Sales Director)

– Overall Company responsibility for accountability of employee welfare and others affected by Company work activities.

– Oversee presence and management of Company procedures, policies, risk assessments, followed, reviewed and updated with current legislation.

– Ensure all employees and suppliers have adequate competency and training to carry out their job role(s) for the safety of themselves and others; ensuring that these operatives follow the appropriate training.

– Establish clear communication with employees to make them aware of their responsibilities in contributing to and maintaining a safe workplace.

External HSEQ Advisors – Greg Buckley and Chenenne Turnbull of ROI Safety Ltd

– Provide Health and Safety advice for all activities relating to the Company and its activities.

– Advise the Company of any updates in law or legislation that have direct effect on current safety procedures, policies or current work activities in a timely manner, to ensure safety levels are at a high standard and compliance is upheld.

– Carry out Internal Audits as per the ISO schedule and advise with improvements and matters of non-conformance.

Senior Management – Marie Adams (Office Manager), Maciej Dyszlewski (IT Manager), Connor Rowe (Contracts Manager)

– Assist the Company Directors in ensuring that all Company procedures and policies are followed by employees, contractors and visitors of the business, and the relevant documentation and records are upheld.

– Competently deal with any raised issues and report to the relevant person any concerns or those of their team members regarding health and safety.

– Ensure required internal audits are carried out by the required and appointed person for the task, and attend management review meetings to carry out assessment of current Company Health and Safety.

Internal HSEQ Administration – Steve King

– Ensure that all relevant documentation and records are upheld to a compliant level and reviewed as per the set schedule for that activity.

– Ensure all relevant training and competencies for employees of the Company and its approved suppliers are upheld to a valid status in a timely manner, reporting any non-compliance issues.

– Upkeep and use of My Compliance system.

– Assist Directors and Senior Management in their HSEQ tasks, reports and providing information as required.

– Report any concerns of HSEQ compliance breach or non-conformance.

The Company shall achieve these objectives by:

1. Providing and maintaining a working environment that is, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health and complies with all relevant legal requirements.

2. Fire Safety – fully enforcing the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, including fire risk assessments within own office and ensuring all sites visited have one for visiting employee health, fire door checks, fire extinguisher maintenance, evacuation planning, signage and practice drill.

3. First Aid and Mental Health support is adequately provided and related to the work activities carried out. A First Aid (Need) Assessment is carried out and reviewed regularly, or after any changes to activities or after an accident investigation. Adequate First Aid Kit provisions are situated in all workplaces including Company vehicles, or ensured to be provided by clients on site visits.

4. Providing and maintaining suitable and satisfactory facilities and arrangements for the welfare at work of employees.

5. Providing and maintaining, so far as is reasonably practicable, premises and other places of work that are safe and without risks to health, including safe means of access and exit.

6. Ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, that plant, machinery, equipment, or appliances for the time being on the Company premises, or otherwise used by employees, are safe and without risks to health.

7. Committing to comprehensive training that encompasses mental health, first aid, and measures against workplace violence. Ensuring that adequate training and competency is provided per role and the related work activity, with reskilling and training development alongside legislation changes as required.

8. Ensuring that the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health.

9. Ensuring any work activities, procedures or materials that are related to the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM Regulations are followed, documented, and responsible persons and bodies notified as required, so that premises are left to a safe standard during or after works completed.

10. Consulting and communicating with employees on a regular basis regarding matters of health and safety.

11. Identifying all reasonably foreseeable hazards and assessing the associated risks with a view to eliminating, reducing, or controlling them on sites and within work activities, including Noise, Manual Handling, and Vibration for the employees associated with the works or surrounding bystanders.

12. Reviewing and updating this policy on a regular basis, ensuring that all employees are informed of changes and have access to a copy of this policy at all times.

Our Health & Safety Policy (POL-001, Version 5) was last reviewed on 16/10/2025 and is next due for review on 16/10/2026.
